Description

Touch-Fu: Battle of Two is a 2D local multiplayer mobile game where two players face off in fast-paced and spectacular battles. Characters fight in a rectangular arena and can win either by knocking out their opponent’s HP or pushing them out of the ring. With attacks, parries, special moves, and unlockable skins, the game aims to provide a competitive experience that is easy to pick up but challenging to master.

The project was built under mobile constraints: performance optimization (APK < 100MB), UI/UX for Android devices in portrait 9:16, simulated monetization with dual currencies (Coins & Jades), and a progression system through shop and daily rewards.

My Role

In this project, I took on the role of Lead Programmer. It was my first official experience in this position, and although it involved higher levels of stress, I enjoyed taking responsibility for the technical direction. My main tasks included:

  • Coordinating another programmer and ensuring the project was delivered on time.

  • Fully developing the core gameplay (movement, combat system, knockback, special moves, round system).

  • Managing the game flow (timer, health, best-of-three logic, KO conditions).

  • Providing technical support to designers and artists.

  • Ensuring stable and optimized performance on target devices.

This experience taught me how to make quick technical decisions, handle pressure, and take on leadership responsibilities within a large team.
